About me and my connections to the community
I am a parent of two children who have attended the Greenburgh Central School District, a daughter in 7th grade and a class of 2024 alumni. I also have an adult daughter who is a graduate of Mamaroneck High School. I graduated from Woodlands after immigrating to the USA in 9th grade. I have been living for 15 years in Hartsdale with my husband Ernesto and my children, working full time as a school-based bilingual speech-language pathologist.Helping others is one of my passions as is supporting educators and parents. I have been a member of the PTAs at all Greenburgh schools attended by my children, as well as carried executive titles and acted as connection/liaison for Spanish-speaking parents. I am an ally for educators, parents and the Latinx and LGBTQ communities. My Belief
I believe that the education of our students can be a transformative partnership between parents and educators. I have seen the greatest growth of my students when our work is rooted by mutual respect, and when students feel heard and valued. These relationships with teachers have made all the difference for my own children. Learning, reflection, and the ability to take diverse perspectives allows everyone to take ownership and accountability and can help create our best learners who are willing to take risks for their own betterment and think independently. What I want to accomplish
Greenburgh Central School District has many strengths such as its diversity and staff, as well as areas that continue to grow, and I feel that it is always best to start where the strengths lie and move forward from there. I am passionate about my work with and for children. I care deeply about diverse communities, and hope to be one many dedicated individuals to support the continued successes of GCSD.I'd like to increase the involvement of our community as it relates to district needs and goals. I hope to be a voice for all, particularly parents and students that are part of the special needs and Spanish-speaking communities. With increased involvement, my hope is that student life while in school will lead to a smoother transition after graduation. My goal is to ensure that parents, students, and educators feel supported and heard and in that way maximize the successes of our community.
